Changes

Hey there. You guys might be wondering if Random Creations died, but it's more of the fact that once it's opening came about, school decided to be annoying and homework and assignments started to pile up, rehearsals and study needed to be done; I'm sure you guys know how that goes.

Sorry for the half dead site, really. I feel as if I owe the whole lot of you an explanation and so here it is. The thing is, Random Creations may not last the way it is now, and so we're thinking of changing the purpose of the whole site. This is only a budding idea at the moment, but when the time comes, the idea may really blossom into something else.

Now, you may be asking why change the site so early in it's life? Lets put it this way. Many of you may be familiar with the site, Winglin (if your browser doesn't warn you, I shall warn you now; visiting the site alone puts your computer in danger of contracting malware). If not, it's basically a site that allows you to create and write a story, whilst getting feedback from other authors and 'reviewers'.

Winglin has indeed gotten less popular as the site continuously gave both authors and readers problems with logging into accounts, updating, ect; and since then, people have been filtering out of the society and settling into new ones such as LiveJournal, AsianFanfics, Soompi and many other sites. The problem with this, was the fact that Winglin was the main site that kept request sites going.

The difference between writing a story in Winglin, and writing one at any other site is that in Winglin, you can customise your story to how you see fit. Your font could be black whilst your background is a lovely white image with a poster that matches it, made by a graphics designer from a request site, or made by yourself. With sites such as LiveJournal, AsianFanfics, ect, backgrounds aren't that easy to change for different stories. Posters are still in use, but as time goes by, I find that many more authors are creating their own posters, and request sites have slowly been shutting down.

The members at Artsy Asian Crew are amazing graphic designers, and have been popular for quite a while, and so they're still being requested from by many different authors. But the crew at AAC only offer graphics, not reviewing or trailer making, which makes managing the site and requests a lot easier. Many request sites offered more than one service (one shot writing, graphic designing, trailer making, challenges and/or reviewing) which led to the creation of this site, because many people didn't know how to organise their site properly to make it as good as Lost Shadows, AAC or even Dorkistic Design. Though it is true, that a site is much easier to handle when you're only offering one service.

Since request sites are slowly shutting down, I thought: "What's the use of this site then? If Winglin doesn't come back, RC will be forced to close, and that's defying the site's purpose." I've sent an email to the staff, asking them if they have any ideas, and hopefully we can keep RC going, even if it does mean changing the whole purpose of the site. I hope you can bear with us for a while longer. I really am sorry to everyone!
